GNU Source Installer version 0.5 has just been released. GNU Source Installer is a complete source package installer and management tool for Unix-likes, that provides a convenient, portable and centralized way to manage installations from source code.
With this version, GNU Source Installer (sourceinstall) offers both a scriptable command line interface and a Tk graphical interface. For a more complete description of what the program is, please read the introductions available in the official manual. There is also a FAQ, now more visible on the project home page. This version is available in two alternative flavours: one normal sourceinstall-0.5.tar.gz release, and a behemot self-extracting interactive installer (fullpack) that includes all major sourceinstall dependencies (tcl/tk and Expect, but excluding X), that are compiled and installed if needed.
