Dico is a flexible implementation of DICT server (RFC 2229). The server is modular: the daemon itself (dicod) provides only the server functionality, while actual database formats are handled by loadable modules. The package includes a number of modules supporting different dictionary databases, such as dict.org, WordNet, GCIDE, and others. A console client program, `dico', is included. It is produced only after "OPTION MIME" command command. * Input conversions The argument to DEFINE or MATCH command can optionally be modified before being used in actual search. This allows, for example, to input search terms in transliteration instead of in the actual script. Conversions are implemented by loadable modules and are associated with individual databases.
