I added this to my ~/.gnus; the variable now shows up as: mm-charset-synonym-alist's value is ((gbk . cp936) (iso885915 . iso-8859-15) (iso8859-15 . iso-8859-15) (big5-hkscs . big5) (unicode . utf-16-le) (ks_c_5601-1987 . euc-kr)) Unfortunately, the error message still occurs.
