I learned by reading the manual (which is rather thorough, if a bit cryptic at times), searching the Web for things that I found confusing or unclear, and looking at the Gnus-related pages in the Emacs wiki at emacswiki.org. Good places in the manual to start are the "Starting Up" chapter and the "Getting Mail" chapter (6.3, under "Select Methods"). Reading it gives you a good handle on how to set up Gnus to read e-mail. - Michael -- mouse, n: A device for pointing at the xterm in which you want to type. Confused by the strange files?
