since today I get the following error message for every article / mail
I open in gnus (emacs 23.2, Gnus 5.13):

I am not aware that I changed my configuration, esp. the mode-lines
from the working state just this morning. Modulo this message and the
fact that opened articles are scrolled to the end, all works as
intended.
Any help would be appreciated.
