I'm using an agentised nnimap group and noticed a strange behaviour. Just after starting gnus, many unread messages are shown several times (twice or sometimes 3 or 4 times), the copy being marked as old (O mark). However hitting M-g clears the summary of these duplicates. It's not too bad but kind of annoying. Have your seen something similar ?
