"High-Speed" Friends and Colleagues ...
Just a quick reminder to everyone ... we need nominations for the Photosonics
Achievement Award.
The deadline for nomination has been extended to August 7.
The award is presented every two years in conjunction with the International
Congress of High-Speed Photography and Photonics (ICHSPP). It recognizes
outstanding contributions in the field of high-speed photography. The next
award will be presented during the 24th Congress (ICHSPP 24) to be held 24-29
September 2000 in Sendai, Japan ... See:

The award carries an honorarium of $5,000, donated by Photo-Sonics, Inc. See:

The Selection Committee will give preference to those developments or
inventions that, in the opinion of the committee, have resulted in significant
advances in technology related to high-speed photography. Since the award is
to be made to an individual, a development or invention by a group will be
considered only if one person has contributed the basic idea or contributed
substantially to the practical working out of the idea. Preferably the work
recognized shall have been done within the last five (5) years.
