Subject: Apple is Giving Away OS X to K-12 Teachers!!

Hello, Folks,

Great news from Apple! On Oct. 17 Apple announced that is giving away one
X for Teachers Kit" to every qualifying K-12 teacher who wants one! This
kit includes everything a teacher needs to learn and become comfortable with
Mac OS X including:

- Mac OS X v10.2 (Jaguar) Install CD Set
- A "Getting Started with Mac OS X" training CD filled with practice
exercises, tips, and over 80 QuickTime movies.
- Telephone support for 90 days via 800#
- Manual and License Agreement

FOR COMPLETE DETAILS AND ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS AND TO REGISTER TO
RECEIVE YOUR FREE X for Teachers Kit", go to:

http://www.apple.com/education/macosxforteachers

This program is only available via the web.

This offer ends December 31, 2002.

WHILE YOU SHOULD GO TO THE URL ABOVE FOR COMPLETE DETAILS, here is some
additional information that you might find useful:

- This free copy of OS X.2 can be put on EITHER a home computer or a school
computer but NOT both. It is a license for one computer and the license is
NOT transferable.

- DO NOT INSTALL YOUR PERSONAL COPY ON YOUR CLASSROOM COMPUTER UNTIL YOU
HAVE CLEARED IT WITH YOUR TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR.

- Please pay special attention to the OS X.2 System requirements given at:

http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/requirements.html

before loading OS X.2 on any computer.

- When you install it on your home computer, please call us for support
questions at the 800 number listed in your Mac OS X for Teachers Kit, not
your district support personnel.

- Sorry but a school or District cannot have one person order free copies
for all the teachers on staff. Because this is a promotion designed for
individuals rather than institutions, each teacher who would like a free
copy must register on his or her own.

- If you are a teacher who has already purchased for yourself a copy of OS
X.2, you can receive $69 off on your next Apple Store for Education online
purchase by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE and identifying this issue.

- If you are planning to put your free copy of OS X.2 on an older Apple
computer (i.e. - pre-iMac), you may even want to go to Apple's Knowledge
Base at http://www.info.apple.com and see what Apple says about your
specific computer and OS X.2. When you get to info.apple.com, simply type
in the search field the type of computer you have and "OS X" (i.e. - Power
Mac G3 All-in-One and OS X) and any related technical articles will come up.
Doing this, for example, would tell you that when you put OS X on a Power
Mac G3 All-in-One you lose the use of the floppy drive (Article #106234) and
the volume buttons (Article #106152).

Please share this email with others! This is too great an offer keep to
Ourselves!
