Will give it a try. I’ve several low-end PC’s I can use. Right now I’ve
got several diskless workstations running Mandrake from a low-end PC I’m
using as a server with fairly good results. I like any alternative to being
hand-cuffed by Microsoft’s pricing

I see two issues; first, that regardless if its Lindows or Linux, there are
growing alternatives to MS. Second, Lindows not only plays (some) windows
programs, but is rather easy for even newbies to run, whereas Linux may or may
not be, depending on your hardware.
Appropriate for schools? I see your point and tend to agree, but the ease
of installation tends to make me think that with Lindows we can keep some of
our Windows software and build white boxes in-house. I think it's
worth the download to test the existing applications to see whether they indeed
will run on it.
Meantime, I'm talking out of both sides of my mouth - three of Storm Lake's
techies are not familiar with PCs whatsoever - they'll stick to Macs forever.
Bottom line - it's worth the download to test it a bit, even if it just opens
one mind a bit to the alternatives out there.
