FYI

For those people who would like to try a pretty good version of Linux
but would not like to reformat or repartition their hard drive, there
are a few distributions that run completely off of the CD. Mad Hatter
from Sun (its not ready for prime time yet) and Knoppix are available.
Knoppix really works great and if you have a dhcp server, you can use it
to go out to the Internet from any PC that can boot from the CD-ROM.
There is also a way to use static IP's, but that info is at home.

Anyway, just burn an ISO from http://www.knoppix.org/

Knoppix
KNOPPIX is a bootable CD with a collection of GNU/Linux software,
automatic hardware detection, and support for many graphics cards, sound
cards, SCSI and USB devices and other peripherals. KNOPPIX can be used
as a Linux demo, educational CD, rescue system, or adapted and used as a
platform for commercial software product demos.
