The new CSIP document address technology in the following ways: (this is a simplified, bare bones list)
If districts apply for Title II, Part D (E2T2) and/or E-rate:
Tech goals in the CSIP must be aligned to student learning goals and emphasize tech integration & show evidence,
Must show evidence of professional development for technology,
Evidence that the district evaluates the effectiveness of the technology plan
If you are not part of E2T2, you will not be required to report out on most of this- if you are a part of E2T2, we will write a template for the information needed for your 2004 CSIP.
This spring, I will ask for some time on the tech-coordinators agenda and go over all of this with you.
Happy Holidays, Nancy

The only thing that I can think that needs the tech plan is for the USF. Since the state isn't giving us any money for technology, is it really necessary and are the people giving the reviews going to even look at it???????
Personally I don't think they will. I still believe their is a use for it but I don't think it is as important as it once was. I consider mine now to be more of a Technology report to the board and admin than a specific plan. I keep the basics on the plan the same and add a new page for year specific stuff, like budget and projects.
