This is an interesting question.  I've been running Deep Freeze (standard edition) in one of my labs all year, and the date of my virus definitions always looks up to date.  I just assumed they updated again when the computer restarted.  We're running Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate edition through our network.  Is there something I should be doing differently?   Sarah M.
