that's a tough one... Ok, I remember on 2000 and NT there was a way to reinstall networking. Try going into the networking settings and see if you can delete everything. If that works, reboot and then reinstall the microsoft client and tcp/ip.

My network ID button is there, but it won't let me click on it. It says that the Network is not installed. As to what made it disappear, I dunno, I've had a few machines do that within a few days of first connecting them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tom and Linda Huseman Sent: Monday, March 07, 2005 5:01 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [info-tech] workstation service I've got an XP Pro machine that does not log on to the network as of today. I have discovered that it is missing the workstation service in the services folder. Does anyone know how I can add this again? I have tried a couple system restores from previous days when the machine was working properly, but that didn't make a difference. I have not been able to find any reference to it on Microsoft. What made it disappear in the first place?
