Just an FYI. I found out the Allegiant Air is running a "Friends Fly Free" promotion that expires on October 31st. If you are thinking about going to Interop next year it looks like you can save some money if you schedule your Air/Hotel before October 31st.
Interop will run from April 28th through May 2nd 2008. I just checked the prices from Des Moines staying at the Excalibur hotel and have a price of $744.60 ($372.30 per person, double occupancy). The air can be booked online or I would recommend Powatan Travel in Pocahontas as they take Purchase orders and bill each traveler separately I would also recommend that you pay the additional $22 fee to get reserved seating. The only other expenses for the trip will be for your meals and entertainment while there. This is much earlier than I typically plan this trip, but with the special on airfare I though I would bring it out a little sooner.
