We just purchased a 16 channel PC based system from New Millennium Technology out of Indianola. It is a networkable system that allows remote viewing on any machine running XP or 2000. It is also audio capable. Unit is a little more costly but unlike DVR's if one component dies it can be replaced as every component is serviceable, verses throwing away the entire unit. The cameras run 24/7 with compression of 2400/1. It also uses full size 640x480 frames when viewing and images can be enlarged without pixelating.
The cameras are full color with IR in vandal-proof domes and run at 540 lines of resolution. The unit can store about one month's worth of video on all 16 cameras.
