Year
Hello All,
Sorry, I didn't get this to you last week. Here is an update of the Web
IEP and "possible" supported browsers for 08-09 school year. The reason
we are testing version 3 of FireFox is because it seems to be compatible
with printing issues we have had in the past with FireFox. So, again...we
are in the testing stages of browsers.
Once I have an update on this I will e-mail everyone again. The final
testing of the Version 5 Web IEP will take place toward the end of July
and the release date of the Version 5 Web IEP is not anticipated until
August 4 or 5 this year. However, with recent flooding of Cedar Rapids
(where the Web IEP server is housed) these dates could change.
So, here is what I know:
Supported Browsers for Version 5 of Web IEP
As of June 11, 2008
In regard to Version 5 of the Web IEP, which is scheduled to be released
in August 2008, it is anticipated that:
The following browsers will be tested and supported:
For PC - Internet Explorer and Firefox
For Macintosh - Firefox
Safari will no longer be tested and supported.
The supported list of specific versions will be identified at a later
time.
More specifically, Versions 6 and 7 of Internet Explorer and Version 3.0
(Early Release candidate) of Firefox are being tested with the
"to-be-released" version of Web IEP. It is anticipated that Firefox 3.0
will be officially released prior to Version 5 of the Web IEP and would be
the version of Firefox supported for both Mac and PC.
As testing of Version 5 continues, it may be necessary to modify the
browser list, if reasonable solutions cannot be implemented for obstacles.
Therefore, updates to this information will be posted, as necessary.
If you have any questions let me know...Thanks!!!
Lisa

FYI . . . I received word today from some of our teachers who are in the
testing phase of the new version of the web IEP. They informed me that
Firefox needs to be the version 3 release that came out earlier this
month. In case you need to do any updating over the summer.
