We have a policy in place that if a teacher takes a laptop home over
the summer, they are responsible for it. Most of them use their home
insurance policy to cover expenses.
We simply tell them that it is like any other school equipment,
personal use is not the responsibility of the school. IF they need a
school machine, there are computers in the buildings that they may
use during the summer. If they want the convenience of being at home
sitting in their La-Z-Boy, then they have to accept the
responsibility if something happens.
