I may show my ignorance here, but wouldn't you need roaming profiles to be working on those Windows clients, and I found support for Windows roaming profiles to be somewhat broken in OS X Server 10.5, and you're using 10.4. In our setup, we had to disable support for Windows roaming profiles even to get the Windows clients to reliably authenticate through our Open Directory Master. Our setup is that the Windows clients use local profiles, and an H: drive is automounted that they can save to (that H: drive is their Mac Portable Home Directory on the file server). They just know that they have to save to the H: drive, or they'll have to go back to that same machine to get that file they left on the desktop.
Maybe Apple has fixed the bugs in Windows roaming profiles since we set it up, but I won't be changing any of that during the school year. Anybody know more about this? --- Timothy A.
