Correct that is what I meant. Since we are all Apple computers here, I really know nothing about Sharepoint services. COuld you build a local script to map a server sharepoint at log in? What I have on my mobile labs, the student log in with a locally managed account and when they log in a script is run to connect to their home folder and mount it on the desktop giving them access to their files. Granted this is on iBooks and Apple Scripting but the theory behind it is platform agnostic.

Mitch,
I don’t think Karl was meaning Sharepoint Services. I think he was suggesting that the kids logon locally, rather than logging into the actual domain. Then they would drilling through network neighborhood to get to the home folders and shares. You have to drill down to your shares, because logging on locally, you lose your group policy and logon scripts(which usually does the drive mapping). Maybe I am missing something, but I think that is what Karl was getting at (correct me if I am wrong, Karl).

Ok. Well I went and tried setting up sharepoint services. But when I try to log into the setup screen I can't figure out what my username and password would be. I have tried all my administrator passwords and still nothing.

ANy kind of authentication over wireless sucks. The best way to handle mobile labs is set up a local user, and teach the kids how to connect to their server share point to save their work.

Ok, I'm going out to you guys and gals again. These mobile labs are going to be the death of me. We are still having a ton of issues with my mobile lab. Anyway our students are having difficulties logging on. And the bad thing is, is it is with Vista. And even though we have roaming profiles turned off they still take about 20 minutes to log into. So what I'm looking for it some help with this. If you guys have any suggestions what might cause this problem.
