So as a teacher . . . I can go in this year and get the RIT ranges
and grouping of students in regard to the various benchmarks/
essential skills. Can I still get that type of grouping next year
with this year's data (even if it is as an entire class) . . . or
will I just get the RIT scores. If I import in JMC (and Heart) I
could get scores -- but not the RIT range groupings that now exist--
which would be the powerful teacher piece as we work on differentiation.

We test during sept in the fall, but part of the reason is we also
use the data for some grouping.
Instead of thinking about teachers looking at the map data to see
if the students have grown (which they can do).. We have the map
data loaded into the Heart database at the AEA along with all of
our ITBS/ITED, DIBELS, etc. It took some doing to get that stuff
in, but now I just send them the MAP data each year and they upload
it. You do have to send the AEA your ITBS demographic file early
but I have an export that does it in our SIS so it is pretty easy.
They then use that file for student information when they do all of
the other data uploading for us.
It has allowed us to keep track of all of the individual data in
one setting. Much easier for the curriculum director, principals
and staff to use.

Subject: [info-tech] MAP test ?
Good morning! Quick MAP test question for those who use this test:
We took our first year of testing this year. In looking at testing
for next year . . . can next year's teachers access this year's data
on their students? I know we load everything based on this year's
schedule/advisors . . . and because this is our first year -- I'm
not sure of how it would look for next year. I know that data will
follow the student -- but if it's difficult (or not possible) to see
last year's data for your new classes -- it would seem necessary to
test asap in the fall.
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks!
