Dear Cyrus folks,

Evaluating alternatives to Microsoft Exchange and other proprietary integrated solutions like Lotus Notes, bundling an email and calendar service, they offer a way to automatically import meeting invitations (ICS) into the calendar, even if the user has not yet read or acted upon the message. Such a calendar entry is also marked up differently, so the users knows that the corresponding email has not been acted upon. The advantage is, that the user is made aware of a possible conflict, when scheduling an event.

Is there an existing way to achieve this with Cyrus or even non-integrated solutions, where a different calendar server, like the one integrated in Nextcloud, is used?

Should this be done by the SMTP server or a Sieve script, where only the calendar URL of a user has to be configured?

Another integration problem seems to be, that once a user acts on an event invitation, the server somehow needs to notice this too, and the event be removed from the other calendar.

Kind regards,

Paul
