Hello,

We are an university with two cyrus architectures :
students : 10 backends with quota, murder, 100k users, no shared
employee : 18 backends, no quota, murder, 4000 users, some shared.

Quoting Ricardo Signes via Info <[email protected]>:

The conversations database is per-user, and so grows in proportion to the user's mail size. That's the unit you have to scale at.

Our conf :
   conversations: 1
   conversations_db: twoskip

Conversation is needed for xapian search.

*For shared, not-user-owned mailboxes, there is no conversationsdb. *If we want to create one, we will need to think about where it goes, and how we scale. For example, if you're using shared mailboxes to store all of usenet, you may well want to split that up into multiple conversation databases.

We (Fastmail) do not use shared mailboxes like this. I am looking for a show of hands or description of use case from anybody out there who *is *using shared mailboxes like this so we can get a sense of what folks are doing. (I realize that this is not going to be a scientific survey of all Cyrus IMAP users.)

50 shared mailboxes on the employee server, mostly for staffs, each read by some 10 users.

We would like there to be better integration of shared mailboxes with Murder. All users of our shared mailboxes need to be on the same server.
