I've almost identical configurations, but it is not working on 3.10.x and 3.12.x releases. All previous releases 3.0.x to 3.8.x have no issues with GSSAPI authentication. The patch mentioned in my previous post does fix the GSSAPI issue. You can use auxprop_plugin and sasldb for CRAM-MD5 and others.
