Europe in High School Looking for Ideas to promote European Values. In high school. Many thanks to our Enjoy Your Future volunteers who actively took part in the second edition of the contest of ideas Europe in High School.
The wonderful teams that performed trainings in 10high schools from Bucharest. Their goal was: Enjoy Your Europe...Your Values and Your Future!
Diana Onu: The children were most confused about the meaning of "value" and how do the countries in the EU have common values and individual ones. That is why we asked them to play a little. Four children interpreted the roles of a German, an Italian, a French and a Romanian. They were supposed to be high diplomats and give arguments on the compatibility of the values of Turkey with the existing EU countries. The participants got really involved in a big argument ones being more tolerant and others more conservative, but they all promoted values like religious tolerance and peace. The others could easily observe how these country representatives have their individual values and their common values and how they practically interact guided by these values.

What is �Books for Children�? A campaign organized by EnjoyYourFuture, to raise books for children living in shelters. The idea The idea behind �Books for Children� was simple-children living in shelters should benefit from the same chances as others. Why should we remain embedded to giving toys and food, why shouldn't we think of them as normal children and give them fair chances to succeed in life. And what better way is there to educate, what better way to make differences fade, than reading? That's pretty much how �Books for Children� started. A lot of hard work followed!! Finally with a bit of luck and endurance everything turned out ok! That's all anyone should know about the making of �Books for Children�. The results The results-we have managed a bigger campaign than we would have imagined and raised more high quality books than we expected. Therefore three centers (that shelter almost 200 children) are now �equipped� with �our� books. We managed to create for each of these shelters their own small libraries of up to 1000 books for all ages. Did we achieve our goal? Not yet. But we're about to. Not only did we raise books for these kids but we also decided to encourage them to read. So in a month or so there will be a contest �My favorite book�. Children will have to present their �favorite book� in basically any way they can imagine-writing, drawing, role-playing-etc. Therefore we're encouraging the kinds to find their own ways of _expression_, the domains they excel in. We're trying to turn them from institutionalized children into individuals whose merits can be acknowledged!
