Recebi essa mensagem do(a) atendente que me ajudou através do suporte online
da HP.
Como solicitei ajuda à lista, a maioria deve saber q tive problemas com
instalaçao/atualizaçao de drivers da minha maquina.
Fiquei positivamente impressionado com a eficiência, delicadeza e presteza
do atendente.
Após receber um email com toda a transcricão da conversa, acabo de receber
este (que repasso) com etapas fundamentais e orientações devidamente
organizadas pelo atendente.
Repasso pra mostrar como foi e recomendar (espero q nao precisem) caso
tenham problemas. Aproveito pra passar, atraves dos links nas mensagens, uns

Dear Ney ,

I am Summer from HP Chat Support Team following up on our recent
interaction.From the issue
description I understand that you are having problem with the formatting
the hard drive of
the notebook.

I request you to perform the following steps for formatting the hard
drive of the notebook.

CAUTION: This procedure formats the hard drive and erases all data on
the drive. After
performing these steps,ll 3rd party applications will need to be
reinstalled. Back up all
data from the hard drive as all data will be deleted from the drive
during the process. Do
not interrupt the following process or unplug the AC adapter until the
process is complete.

1. Connect the notebook to external power and turn on the notebook.
2. Immediately insert the OS CD into the notebook.
3. Reboot the notebook.
4. Windows setup screen will be displayed. Wait while the setup loads
the appropriate
drivers.
5. On the next screen (Welcome screen) press the Enter key to continue.
6. Accept the End User License Agreement on the next screen by pressing
F8 key.
7. On the next screen, press Esc key to install a fresh copy of the
operating system.
8. Highlight the partition where the Windows operating system is
installed and press the D
key to delete the partition.
9. Press the Enter key to delete the partition.
10. Press the L key to delete the partition.
11. Press the Enter key to setup Windows in the unpartitioned space.
12. Accept the default partition size or type a new one (in MegaBytes)
into the entry field
and then press the Enter Key to create the partition.
13. Press the Enter key to setup Windows on the new partition.
14. Choose the <Quick> or standard formatting option and then press
Enter.

Setup display a progress screen while partition is formatted. When setup
has completed the
partition, it begins copying the files. After Windows configuration is
initialized, Setup
displays a notice to reboot the computer.

15. Press the Enter key to reboot.
16. Once the Windows reboots, you must complete the Windows
Out-Of-Box-Experience(OOBE).
17. Reload all the applications and drivers using the Driver Recovery CD
included with the
notebook and also all the software you wish to install.
18. Reload any third party software

The second issue is about the USB ports,please follow these steps for
better performance of
USB:

This utility will test 3 parts of the USB.
1. System Software (OS) Support.
2. System Hardware Support.
3. USB driver support.
