Two days ago I upgraded to the IE v5.5 browser and associated Outlook
Express on this older IBM-compatible computer. I have since found that I
cannot print out email in OE or webpages in IE. All I see on my paper when I
attempt a print job are some faint boxes at the very top of the page with
one containing what looks like a font size ratio box, a 'number of pages' to
print box, and, what appear to be "buttons" for "help" and "close".
Underneath all that, the timestamp of when the document is being printed is
displayed. Other than that top header stuff, the remainder of the page is
totally blank with no content whatsover of the document to be printed.

Prior to the upgrade I had no problems printing with either software program
and there have been no other changes to the whole computer system, hardware,
or cable connections before or after the upgrade. The printer is a Panasonic
KXP-1124 dot-matrix unit and I'm assuming that the IE and OE software wants
to see a newer type of printer (laser, inkjet, etc.) instead of a dot-matrix
one.

I can print out documents from Notepad and the Opera v4.02 browser so the
problem can't be with the printer or rest of the computer outside of this
"upgrade".

I don't have the time today to search for online answers to this problem so
I thought I'd mention it to the mailing list in case anyone else has
encountered it, knows the answer, or knows where I should look to find the
answer.

Bill
