What is a weblog?
A weblog (sometimes called a blog or a newspage or a filter) is a webpage
where a weblogger (sometimes called a blogger, or a pre-surfer) 'logs' all
the other webpages she finds interesting.
The format is normally to add the newest entry at the top of the page, so
that repeat visitors can catch up by simply reading down the page until they
reach a link they saw on their last visit.

Basically it's a webpage where people post links and comment upon the stuff
they come across on the Internet. Most weblogs are maintained by individuals
but some are collaborative, i.e. a small group of people post and comment.
In a way "Informant" serves many of the same needs that a collaborative
weblog does.
The weblog movement is actually quite huge. There are a number of resources
on the Internet which you can use to "roll your own" weblog including,
www.blogger.com, www.groksoup.com and www.weblogs.com. I find the whole
movement fascinating and have learned copious amounts of things I wouldn't
otherwise have known.
