Well I did a dumb thing. I saw the ad on my local TV station for The
Weather Bug and decided to download it. It asked for my name and I
offered just my first name and an email forwarding service I use. It
was pretty neat interface, very attractive with all kinds of local
weather pertinent information for my area. In face, the point of
collection just happened to be my old grammar school.

Knowing WTNH TV uses the Weather Bug and promotes it, I installed it
and soon wham! it dawned on me that it must be collecting data on me.
I immediately deleted it from my entire computer, including the
registry and the cookie. I have a feeling I didn't get it all. :(

Anyone else encounter this software? Any comments? It's rather new but
I believe it can be construed as spyware. I never read the part where
it said it tracks you as you surf the internet to offer your
advertising content to suit your tastes. I am, needless to say, pretty
disguested with myself. You'd think I'd have learned by now.
