Folks:
I have two computers which I would like to use on the internet with the
use of a cable modem. One of the computer is a Dell Dimension 733 PIII
and the other is a Zeos (Micron) Pantera 66. Both of the systems will
operate independently on the cable modem.
I purchased a Netgear Dual Speed Hub, Model DS104. I have an ethernet
cable going from the 4th port (which is the port to use for
download/uplink) to the cable modem which eliminates the need for a
crossover cable.
I have the Dell plugged into the 3rd port and it works fine.
I have the Zeos cables into the 3rd port and it does not work. Whenever
I bring up Netscape, it says it can't locate the home page and cannot
find any websites I key in. It appears that there is no connection.
The only thing I can think of is that Netscape is configured the same on
both machines as the Zeos was my older system. Do I need to add a new
user, etc. to the older system for it to work, or am I missing something
else.
Thanks,
Mario
