It is always nice to see someone with an open mind about other cultures.
We can appreciate a culture that conquered Tibet, forcibly sterilized women
and men, tried very hard to obliterate their religion and moved hundreds of
thousands of Han Chinese into the country to wipe out the distinct Tibetan
culture.
We can also appreciate the suppression of all religion, creation of the
custom of Maoist self-denunciation which reached its
peak in the Great Leap Forward and the Cultural Revolution, run principally
by Mao's wife, which resulted in the eliminiation
of as much disagreement with government policies as they could manage, by
re-education, torture or death.
We can appreciate the restraint used by the Government when they used only
firearms (cannon, machine guns) instead of
non-lethal gas to carry out the Tien An Min Square massacre.
We can appreciate the international comity created when they spied on the
United States, with the tacit
permission of the despicable William Clinton, who took campaign money from
the Chinese or their fronts.
The population solutions they promote, ripping fetuses out of their mothers
by force, are certainly worthy of
acceptance. Their growth of a nuclear capability, better missles, deep-sea
attack and missle subs and their
military threats to Taiwan should also draw admiration.
Move to China. You will never be a Chinese, unless you are already. When
people flee China, they can
become Americans, just as my daughter-in-law did.
We have faults, but not on the scale of the Chinese.

have much to say. However, this shows that the Chinese are willing to
negotiate if we use civilized methods of negotiation instead of threats.

criminals. Unlike Criminals in China who pay the price, U.S. prison growth
is up 75% in the past 5 years (according to a recent article I read) and has
an open door policy.

> In Georgia where I live, there is a prison or YDC (youth detention center)
in every county. The local papers promote it's existence by talking about
how many jobs it supplies to the area and goes on to say it's safe because
there are no hard-timers kept there. To the editor: "Please, give me one
ounce of dignity and stop insulting our intelligence!"

> Sometimes the Chinese Socialist Government takes extreme measures to
protect it's own sociological way of life. I think we could learn a lot from
China. The earliest forms of society were run by elders. They wrote laws
and rules in which to live by and carried out some pretty cruel punishment
for those who did not... This is basic survival of the species tactics and
I find nothing wrong with this type of society. We are all "different,"
that's what makes travel so interesting!

people in the different countries he visited."
