I have been under the misconception that a good antivirus program prevented
a virus from entering your computer. I bought the eTrust EZ Armor package,
though I use only the firewall and antivirus. I check for updates everal
times a week (daily, if there seems to be a lot of activity) and never open
attachments. But, when I ran a virus check this week, it showed 7 files
infected with klez.

If an antivirus program won't keep out a virus, is there any real value to
having one? Don't worry about this email--I'm clean now.

Lee

Hi Lee!
I'm surprised. I use EZ Trust Antivirus, and it has never failed me yet.
I download the updates daily as well (they seem to update it at least once
a day Mon-Fri), and it has always caught any viruses as the emails were
coming in. I'm in Ilion, NY and Road Runner here even got infected and I
received about 8 messages around the same time from various addresses, and
it caught them all.
The only thing I can think of is the timing. Maybe you were an early
recipient of K l e z before the virus definitions were updated in which
case it wouldn't have known to stop it. It's the only thing I can think of.
I use the antivirus only, I'm currently using Zone Alarm for my firewall.

Take care,
         Ray
