Financial support is available for a few thesis-level research positions with the Chameleon research group at University of Toronto. The intern's research topics will be in the area of parallel and distributed systems. In particular, one of our active projects is game server scaling on parallel and distributed platforms, specifically on large-scale clusters of multicore processors. For this project, we will be working with actual server code from massively multiplayer game companies. The position is for up to 12 months and a minimum of 6 months (i.e., student time commitment for at least this duration is expected) and carries a 1000 CND per month stipend. Undergraduate students in their senior year or Masters students looking for supervision for their diploma project are preferred, but both undergraduates and post-graduates at all levels will be considered. Experience with coding in parallel and distributed systems is a plus.
