Greetings!

At long last, as summer ends, and after some delays beyond my control, my
next book is finally out.

Today's Wired.Com interview officially announced its arrival - the interview
is at http://www.wired.com/news/print/0,1294,60238,00.html.

Currently, the book is available from the publisher (links are on my
website) and soon from major booksellers over the next week or so as they
update their online catalogues and begin stocking copies.

You can learn more about the book (and hopefully order it!) at
www.rickonline.org.

Now, it's off to do the interviews and assorted publicity events. Fun, fun.

Cheers, and thanks for the support,

Rick Forno

PUBLISHING ANNOUNCEMENT

WEAPONS OF MASS DELUSION: Americas Real National Emergency
Written by Richard Forno <www.rickonline.org>
Political Science Current Affairs
Pagefree Publishing / Potomac View Books

(Hardcover & Softcover - $22.95 and $14.95 respectively)

Who says geeks cant see beyond the glare of their workstations?

In a stunning departure from his previous books on computer security ("The
Art of Information Warfare" and "Incident Response,") technologist and
popular techno-pundit Richard Forno contends that the real national
emergency facing America isnt terrorism or weapons of mass destruction but
the ongoing problems within American society that many Americans and their
elected leaders refuse to admit to themselves.

>From organized religion (God, Inc.,) and public education (Schoolyard
Stalag,) Beltway double-speak (Spinning The Body Politic,) the American
mass media (NewsPorn,) something he calls Homeland Insecurity and more,
Forno provides a critical, curmudgeonly, and sometimes humorous look at many
of the institutions and mindsets influencing Americas society and wonders
why the American public isnt taking a more active role in staying informed
and assisting in the governance of their great nation.

Americans need to stop letting others corporations, media personalities,
religions, political spin doctors, and the herd mentality - do the thinking
for them, Forno says. Otherwise, freedom in America means nothing more
than a few pre-determined options provided by others to ensure their ability
to influence society for their benefit and not ours.

In his lectures and commentary, Richard Forno is known as someone unafraid
to confront reality in a dynamic, understandable, and entertaining fashion.
With "Weapons of Mass Delusion," Forno redirects his energy from the
technology world toward the real world to raise public awareness and ignite
debate on the issues affecting America during one of its most crucial
moments in history.
