Good Morning, all - This coordination e-mail came to me from the folks organizing a large security conference I'm speaking at in Sydney, Australia in August. What totally surprised me was the following paragraph taken from that message.
> <snip> > > Recent feed-back had led us to discourage speakers from leading delegates > through a long series of power point slides. However should you still wish to > use them as a presentation aid we would require these, along with your written > synopsis by 26 July 2004, in electronic format. Your synopsis should be 1000 > words or more, presented in Word format and can include addition information > such as be articles or abstracts. Terrapinn provides the synopsis as > additional information for delegates. They may be published on our global > Internet portals, where senior industry executives use them as a resource. This approach is a welcome breath of fresh air in the way conferences and business meetings are normally conducted these days. Those knowing of the "Powerpoint Manifesto" on my website know that I will certainly support this suggestion. :) Perhaps there still remains the possibility that PowerPoint will not remain the immutable requirement for public speakers that it is today. These folks in Australia certainly earned my respect (and thanks!) today. -rick Infowarrior.org -- You are a subscribed member of the infowarrior list.
