My keynote went rather well in Sydney this past Monday. Surprisingly, the
event was a mixture of Email-World, Storage-World, and Information
Security-World, but for the most part, the audiences seemed to understand
the items I discussed regarding disaster recovery and business continuity.

A special thanks to those list subscribers who provided the tour-guide
services in Sydney on Sunday evening after the Harbour Cruise....your taste
in food and night-life was impeccable -- I truly enjoyed the conversation
and meeting you all!

Tourist Note #1: For those with a quasi-daring spirit, I strongly suggest
throwing on the jumpsuit, locking your harness in, and undertaking the
4-hour Sydney Bridge Climb. Loads of fun, and an outstanding view of the
city! (http://www.bridgeclimb.com/) We did a twilight tour that had us on
the peak of the bridge just as the sun was setting over the city -- a
fantastically gorgeous sight! (Not for those scared of heights)

Tourist Note #2: Singapore Air still rocks. The Newark-Singapore route is
18.5 hours and since they started that route in June of this year, is the
longest nonstop commercial airline route in the world. As mentioned, their
inflight service makes the trip more than bearable. Highly recommended.

Ironically, as I was out this morning, the local news station here in DC was
trumpeting a CSIS report about "next terror concerns" with some "experts"
discussing "new" ways a terrorist could attack the United States. What a
depressing welcome home. :(

Saving up for my next trip to Oz,

Rick
