I just committed a fix for this, the login link should appear in the
footer now for all non-logged-in visitors.

This is something we used to have, and now I find it very
frustrating
to start looking for a login screen whenever I spot a spelling
mistake
(or worse) in a page I'm reading.
On the bottom right is a login link. I agree this might not be
optimal
placement because we should encourage people to log in and fix stuff.
