In the V2 pipeline jobs for check-patch it turns out that the invocation for
`pusher.py` that checks if a patch should be auto-merged was doen before the
path was even checked out from git.
This let to two different issues:
# In most repos automerge simply did not work in V2 jobs
# For the 'jenkins' repo, if the last merged patch was an auto-merged one, any
path folllowing it was also auto-merged
