Yeah I did not have time to look at this, a while back I started
fedora-search [0] to look at using Postgresql full text search capabilities
but that seemed quite slow compared to what we have with Xapian. One
possible quick way forward would be to extract the code that does the
indexing and search from the current packages app and give it as simple
search endpoint. While I honestly don't think I will be able to lead that
effort, if anyone is interested in working on this I ll be more than happy
to help with getting started.
