Dne 01. 12. 25 v 7:00 odp. Adam Williamson via infrastructure napsal(a):
If you look at the archives of this list you'll see mails like "AWS
usage per group". These are the usage tracking emails.

We don't generally actually pay for AWS (Amazon comps us), but we do
try to keep the usage down so we're not imposing on their generosity.

*nod*, that's me doing that.

Currently, if somebody allocate something expensive and quickly terminate it,
then it is bellow radar.

What we want (and need) to track are forgotten resources. I.e. somebody allocate something, but is forgotten and without usage left there for months or years.

Right now I am somehow able to monitor: instances, volumes, snapshots and AMIs. Everything else (ellastic IPs, S3...) is still on TODO.

I used to check the monthly bill, but for a year the bill include bogus data (remember this is just subaccount). I tried to ask Dan Y from AWS who manage our account to correct it, but it never happened. So I am doing my best with calculating estimates.
