What: Rackspace will be performing a database reconfiguration for the
underlying tracking database that services HEAT in the public cloud. The
Linux Foundation will also take this time to perform some outstanding
systems maintenance related to SSL certificates and the managed hardware
firewall.

When: Friday, June 30 @ 17:00 - 19:00 PDT (2017-07-01 00:00 - 02:00 UTC)

Why: Rackspace has informed us that they need to perform fixes to the
underlying database that stores information about HEAT resources. As we
are apparently one of, if not the, heaviest user of HEAT in their
environment they requested a service window where we could pause our
systems so as to not cause major failures in our jobs.

Additionally, there is some outstanding work to transition our systems
that are using Let's Encrypt certificates (everything but Nexus) to
fully automated configurations. This work will cause the sites to
disappear temporarily as we turn the automation on and it starts
processing components properly. Once the automation is in place we
should not see any further disruptions as certificates are automatically
updated.

Finally, there is an outstanding reboot on the hardware firewall that
Rackspace has in front of our private cloud. This reboot needs to be
performed to bring the system up to date on the latest firmware.

Impact: All jobs will be paused. Jobs that are running will be left to
continue running as the work that is being performed should not impact
running jobs.

Internet access to resources will be unavailable for a few brief outages
as the firewall is reboot and as the certificates are transitioning to
automated management.

Notices will be posted to the mailing lists and in #opendaylight on
Freenode at the start and end of the maintenance.

If you have any questions or concerns please raise them now!
