I have a few technical issues, not sure if these are better requested
off-list, but figured it's worth posting to the list even if it's just so
that Howie's responses get into the archives.
(1) The log file do not appear to be delimitted with "\n" (CRLF, I think),
but rather just CR [chr(13)]. This adds some slight complexity to utilities
that parse the logs. Can that be standardized?
(2) Retries. How often is a message retried? Looking at my logs from
yesterday, I see that a few addresses have caused most of the repeated mail.
This issue will be more easily resolved if Howie adds the DELIVERYFAILURE
method discussed yesterday.
(3) Timer. I'm starting to prepare the digest edition of my lists, but
don't want to use Cold Fusion's scheduler for it. (I'm very, very angry at
Allaire for releasing a sub-par product with CF4.5, especially in the mail
area. Truthfully, I've stopped trusting their product for mail and
scheduling). It'd be great if iMS could include some sort of timer that
called a template at a designated time, for digests, indexing, etc.
(4) Outlook Express is hanging when trying to POP an account. The message
it hangs on is one sent by CF. Has anyone seen this behavior before? The
CF that's creating the message is:

(I guess that's not surprising!) The POP3 log (with protocol logging on)

My old mail server, which has delivered 6.5 million messages since 1995, is
now off, everything's been transferred over to iMS as of yesterday
