Hi,
I'm writing a system which is going to rely on email messages to
basically arrange meetings. The system sends email messages to the
nominated attendees and then processes the replies, probably just
searching for 'accept' or 'decline' in the first line (unless someone
has a better idea - but that is not my question). My question is - do I
need to set up a unique userid for each 'meeting' so that I can process
the reply emails? Or, can I set up some kind of a virtual userid for
each meeting and then decode the userid to identify the meeting to which
it applies, or will the mail server 'bounce' the reply messages with
'unknown userid'. I don't really want to put the id of the meeting in
the subject line of in the text of the email, it would seem to be just
too easy for someone/everyone to accidently overwrite it.
I'm sure this type of thing has been done before and any help from
previous experience would be greatly appreciated. If there is somthing
somewhere that I can read on this then please just point me at it, I'd
be glad to RTFM! ;)
Many Thanks,
Brett Payne-Rhodes
