On-Line Data Solutions is pleased to announce the immediate availability of
inFusion Scheduler version 1.0 beta 1. inFusion Scheduler is born from the
same inFusionEngine technology that drives inFusion Mail Server and inFusion
Authenticator.

inFusion Scheduler is a Windows NT/2000 Services that retrieves scheduled
events and executes the events utilizing the inFusionEngine. Events are
retrieved from a ColdFusion template which means that the scheduler is 100%
customizable by the developer. Events may be monitored for success or
failure and notifications are also sent to a ColdFusion template for
processing.

inFusion Scheduler can also be configured to stop and restart the ColdFusion
service in the event of an error.

Advantages over CFSchedule

CFSchedule checks for events every 15 minutes. inFusion Scheduler checks
every 60 seconds (this will be programmable in the final 1.0 release)

CFSchedule executes templates via HTTP. inFusion Scheduler processes
templates directly via the inFusionEngine.

CFSchedule has a limited number of event types. inFusion Scheduler is fully
customizable.

CFSchedule keeps events in the Windows Registry. inFusion Scheduler can
keep events in any user-defined location including databases.

inFusion Scheduler Beta Limitations

1 - The beta will expire after July 31, 2000.
2 - There is no GUI installer.
3 - There is no GUI configuration tool. You must make settings via a
registry editor.
4 - You cannot set the number of seconds for the server to call the
GetEvents.cfm template. This is fixed at 60 seconds.
5 - You cannot use iHTML or Perl for your GetEvents or EventDone
6 - Assumes that the name of the service to restart is "Cold Fusion
Application Server"

inFusion Scheduler will be made available at no charge for owners of the iMS
POST Server including the iMS Professional and Enterprise Bundles. inFusion
Scheduler will also be available as a separate product that will retail for
around $400.

inFusion Scheduler is available as a ZIP file. There is no GUI installer
currently but there are instructions contained in an MS WORD document that
is included in the ZIP file. The ZIP file contains the server, manual and
example templates. You can download the server from:

ftp://ftp.hoot.com/pub/ods/inschedule/inSchedule10Beta1.zip

Please let me know if there are any problems or questions. Also, if there
are any changes you would like to see in the final product.

Regards,

Howie Hamlin
