Thanks for your suggestions.
I will be providing web access for clients to accept these 'invitations'
but I expect that most will prefer to use their current email systems.
Even if they were using a web system I'm reluctant to use Java
technology because some of the invitees will be in organisations that
are likely to have policies against client-side processing in their
environments (eg banks), even though they might encourage it in their
own clients!
The 'out of service' problem occured because I did not have
'result=accept' in the logic path so iMS did not know what to do. Also,
I'm not actually setting up 'reply' email addresses, I'm setting up
[EMAIL PROTECTED] I didn't want to set up two, and then I realised
that I could just create an alias (of course)!
