We found that this was happening when invalid headers were in the email.
iMS, being an open system, can accept mail that is invalidly formatted. The
fix for this is included in iMS 1.5a (which will be released shortly). In
the meantime, I'll send you (off list) 1.5a Release Candidate 2 which fixes
this.
