iMS 1.6 Beta 19 is now available for download. This version adds the
following:
+ Enhanced Configurator
+ SMTP and POP internal memory improvements
+ SMTP Allowed IPs
+ Relay Server added to POST Server
Please see the notes below for descriptions of some of the above.
If you are using an application server SMTP sender (CFMAIL, for example)
then you may want to use the new Relay Server to service this type of mail.
Since the server only verifies that the sender is in an allowed IP Address
range the processing speed is very fast. You will find that the throughput
for the Relay Server is faster for relay-type mail than the iMS SMTP Server.
And, since you can select both an IP address and TCP/IP port for both the
SMTP and Relay Servers you can actually have both running on the same server
at the same time.
Notes:
The Relay Server is a new internal server that relays mail via SMTP directly
into the POST Server queue. This allows you to utilize existing application
server email interfaces (CFMAIL, for example) to send mail directly to the
POST Server queue. Security is provided by an "Allowed IP Range List" which
is configured via the GUI. This is a list of IP ranges that are allowed to
relay through the Relay Server.
The SMTP Allowed IPs do not currently work in the iMS SMTP Server the way
that they do in the Relay Server. If you assign Allowed IPs in the SMTP
Server then you will find a new variable called "IPAllowed" which will be
set to "YES" if the IP Address of the connecting client matches the list of
Allowed IPs. This var will always be set to YES if there are no Allowed IPs
assigned. If there are Allowed IPS assigned and the connecting IP is not in
the programmed range then this variable will be set to "NO".
You can download the new servers and configuration GUI here:

Please let me know if there are any problems or questions. BTW - the only
documentation for the Relay Server thus far is here:
