I have a few questions about the settings for the SMTP server.

To test the iMS system I am in the process of mailing out approximately
540,000 emails. I set the Maximum threads to 1024 for the SMTP server. The
rest of the settings for the SMTP are default settings. For the POST server
I set the Maximum threads to 1024 and the Maximum MX cache records to 1024.
The rest of the settings for the POST server are default settings.

How much RAM does the MX take up?

Using the Microsoft Performance Monitor, the thread count for the SMTP is:
Last 122, Average 122, Min 122, Max 122.
The POST thread count is: Last 1028, Average 1028, Min 1028, Max 1028.

If you have any advice on how to increase the SMTP thread count it would be
helpful.
If you have an example of some proven settings for bulk mailing using the
iMS 2.0a system it would be helpful too.
We are using the cfx_iMSMail.DLL version 2.5.3.

Bandwidth should not be a factor in our case.

Your help is much appreciated.
