I understood that to be the case.

My only reasonable thought is that the p-log is slowing the mailing
sufficiently for the messages to be delivered, but when it is off the server
cannot keep up, and some messages are lost. The missing mbx files issue I
sent you on Monday may be related to this as well.

Other possibly related issues we have experienced: When our largest mailing
(1.1 mil) is sent out many addresses are not logged at all, as either
successes or failures, and this includes addresses I use for personal mail.
In some cases the message is delivered, and some cases it is not delivered.
Also the messages returned by the post server were a bit muddled for the
largest of our lists. In some cases successfully delivered messages were
returned in the tempfailedlist or permfailedlist variables, and the server
responses included "250 OK" commands and some iMS log messages (such as
"*.mbx was successfully delivered to * from <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>").

Well, this makes no sense to me either...

The only thing that protocol logging does is log the protocol to the log
file...

Howie
