Title: Socket Timeouts
Fomr my message yesterday:
 
"Oh, that is the TCP/IP connection attempt that is timing out.  Basically, iMS asks Winsock to connect to the server and when Winsock fails to connect you get an error which, in this case, is a timeout.  This means that the remote server is not listening or a network connection could not be established."
 
You'll notice that the log error contains the text "sockconnect" which means that the timeout occurred when trying to connect.  The timeout that is set in iMS is for when iMS is connected to a server but is waiting for a response from the other server.

In some other threads, we were told that the timeout for POST on socket connect errors (like the below) is actually the SMTP timeout setting

Here's my question.  We have set the SMTP timeout error to 600 seconds and even down to 30 seconds, but consistently, when we get these errors, the timeout occured after only 23 seconds, regardless of what the SMTP timeout is set at.

Is there another setting somewhere that could be affecting this?  We are getting hundreds of these socket errors, but sometimes the mail goes through to these domains and we have thousands of mailouts that are succeeding.  We've figured this setting is probably a winsock timeout but can it be controlled from iMS or anyone have any ideas how we can extend it?
