The cfx tag does sorting by domain so it would not make a difference in using the cfx. 
 Other iMS users have had better success
using straight cfml to make control files rather than using the cfx tag, however.

I would leave the threads at 25 but set the bandwidth limiting on the post server.  
Set up the max bandwidth to maybe half of your
available bandwidth and set the apportion factor to around 12.
